Swords - 15th Century || Espadas - Século XV

Here we have 3 swords from de 15th century. || Aqui temos 3 espadas do século XV.

The 1st: || A 1ª:

Dürer Bastard Sword:
This is a knightly sword for war from the end of the 15th century. The grip is 8" long and bottle-shaped in style. This long sword provides great reach and versatility to the warrior who rode to battle with it at his side.

Esta é uma espada de cavaleiro pra a guerra do final do século XV. A aderência é de 8" longas e em forma de garrafa em grande estilo. Esta espada longa fornece grande alcance e versatilidade para o guerreiro que rode a batalha com ela a seu lado.

The 2nd: || A 2ª:

English Longsword:
The distinctive hilt of this sword consists of a flattened pear shaped pommel and gently arched guard all in steel. The grip is of a hock bottle shape. The grip core is wood, bound with cord to create the pattern and covered in leather.

O distintivo "hilt" desta espada consiste de um achatamento moldado em pêra e guardas suavemente arqueadas, todas em aço. É usado também madeira e couro.

German Branch Sword:

German sword, the design of twisted branches, called the gothic bough style, was a popular motif for swords in the north central regions of Europe. This is an excellent example of the light and quick style of longsword so many knights chose for their personal weapon.

In Greek mythology is the king of the gods, the ruler of Mount Olympus, and the god of the sky and thunder. His symbols are the thunderbolt, eagle, bull and the oak.

Na mitologia grega, Zeus era senhor do céu, do trovão e deus grego supremo. Seus símbolos eram o raio, a águia, o touro e o carvalho.

The youngest son of Kronos and Rhea, was born at Mount Ida, in Crete. Brother of Poseidon, Hades, Demeter, Hestia and Hera, who was also her husband, and father of several gods, as Athena, Artemis and Apollo. Zeus has always been considered a god of the weather, with lightning, thunder, rain and storms attributed to him. Later, he was linked to justice and the law.

Filho mais novo de Cronos e Réia, nasceu no Monte Ida, em Creta. Conhecido pelo nome romano de Júpiter, tinha como irmãos Poseídon, Hades, Deméter, Héstia e Hera, de quem era também marido, e pai de diversos deuses, como Atena, Ártemis e Apolo. Zeus sempre foi considerado um deus do tempo, com raios, trovões, chuvas e tempestades atribuídas a ele. Mais tarde, ele foi associado à justiça e à lei.

Horses in the Middle Ages differed in size, build and breed to the modern horse, and were, on average, considerably smaller. They were also more central to society than their modern counterpart, being essential for war, agriculture, and transport.

Jousting || Justa

Jousting is a sport and an entertainment for the rich and noble. It consists of martial competition between two mounted knights using a variety of weapons, usually in sets of three per weapon, often as part of a tournament.

Justa é um esporte e um entretenimento para os ricos e nobres. É constituída por uma competição marcial entre dois cavaleiros montados, usando uma variedade de armas, normalmente em grupos de três por arma, muitas vezes como parte de um torneio.

Though the first recorded tournament was staged in 1066, jousting did not gain in widespread popularity until the 13th century. It maintained its status as a popular European sport until the early 17th century.

An armor is a clothing used for personal protection, originally from metal, used by soldiers, warriors and knights as a form of protection during a battle.

There are armours considered light, medium and heavy. The light armour generally doesn't have metal shares, and is composed of several layers of leather and padding. These armor of leather often were infested by fleas because they've accumulated much sweat.

It was composed of heavy and resistant and metal, reducing the mobility of its user, underneath it usually used a piece of leather to reduce the impacts efficiently, the armour was extremely expensive.
